This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties
Perform alarm monitor and closed-circuit television CCTV monitoring for a robust security system.
Advise shift supervisor on matters warranting his attention and suggest course of action.
Make day-to-day adjustments of personnel and transmit information in accordance with established/special instructions.
Distribute and balance the workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization.
Assure timely accomplishment of the assigned workload and assure that each employee has enough work to keep busy.
Serve as a Patrolman and Security Gate Guard when not in performance of Desk Officer duties.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to undergo and pass a medical examination.
- This position requires the incumbent to undergo and pass an agility test annually.
- This position is covered by the civilian drug abuse-testing program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- This position requires that the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
- This position may require working other than normal duty hours and shiftwork including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Employee is required to wear a uniform and protective clothing.
- Qualifies and trains with special weapons, (must qualify with 9mm Semi-Automatic Pistol).
- This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a current State Driver’s License.
- This position is designated as KEY. The position is required to perform duties which are vital to the continuity of medical facilities, public safety, national defense, or similar crucial operations.
- Key positions are required to perform the duties of the position regardless of emergency situations or conditions including contingency operations, natural disasters, and extreme weather situations.
- Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position, as such this position requires annual firearms testing
Qualifications
About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as the Lead Security Guard that is responsible for the protection of government personnel, property, and technologies against such hazards as: sabotage, espionage, theft, accidental or willful damage and destruction. This position located at Camp Stanley Storage Activity, which is a subordinate installation of JMC.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:
Experience performing duties as a desk officer responsible to the shift supervisor for net control of the security force radio communication systems;
Experience controlling and coordinating security forces (by means of in person, radio, or telephone contact);
Experience enforcing special and required security measures to protect life and property and;
Experience assigning personnel to work assignments and ensuring timely completion.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
