Duties
Maintains space definitions and classifications using AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS Space Management Module and applies industry standard layers and naming conventions.
Updates drawings and ArcGIS system as needed to maintain the accuracy of spaces.
Updates and maintains organizational and personnel space assignments to the individual workstation level based on completed modifications, findings, and approved assignments and space transfers.
Regularly provides updated drawings and assignments to organizational representatives for verification and update.
Generates the assigned space report quarterly, ensuring any changes are properly recorded.
Responds to DLA, Army, and DoD space reporting requirements, such as the annual Army Stationing Installation Plan.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Building Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Develop plans, designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of projects, conduct studies of projects to be accomplished, Draft design activities utilizing a computer aided drafting system such as AutoCAD.
Skill in oral and written communication to present and defend findings and conclusions, coordinate with higher level management officials, and technical and professional representatives in the resolution of space management issues.
Ability to plan, organize, and participate in study teams and the ability to negotiate effectively with managers and higher Headquarters personnel not only within DLA but outside of DLA to accept or implement recommendations involving work assignments and projects.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
