Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for enforcing Federal Criminal and Civil laws that protect the life, liberty and property of citizens. You will be responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance involving three of more IT specialty areas. The IT environment includes personal computers, routers, switches, bridges, a wide area network and local area network, operating systems, case management systems, and litigation support operations. Typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to:

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • If selected, you will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless this requirement has been met previously.
  • Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
  • You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.

Qualifications

To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: monitoring status of IT operating systems; evaluating quality of operations; Planning and improving information systems to meet the needs of customer requirements; overseeing long and short range planning of services; and performing project management, program analysis, and providing technical guidance and recommendations to senior management and technical specialists on a wide range of complex IT issues. Basic Requirement for all applicants: In addition, all applicants must possess information Technology related experience demonstrating each of the following competences: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication and Problem Solving. This experience may have been gained by performing the following types of duties: Ensuring IT systems availability, functionality integrity and efficiency; performing oversight of IT support tasks associated with day-to-day operation of the IT systems; and planning, organizing and evaluating the work of subordinates. Your resume must clearly contain enough information demonstrating experience in the above competencies. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
