Duties
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaches core and elective courses in the Bachelor of Science in Intelligence and/or the Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence, with strong collaboration with Program Directors, faculty colleagues, and the Dean.
Incumbent serves on the National Intelligence University faculty within the National Intelligence and Security Enterprise (NISE) Department, focused on teaching counterintelligence courses and counterintelligence modules in NIU's core and elective courses, and conducting research in his /her area of expertise.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: support the goal of expanding educational offerings related to counterintelligence beyond main campus and Quantico to other academic centers.
Develop, deliver, and assess strategic and predictive intelligence education for counterintelligence related courses.
Serve as a thesis committee member for student research.
Engage with the Intelligence Community to bring the most current issues in counterintelligence into the classroom.
Foster critical thinking, creativity, diversity of thought, and strategic foresight.
Additional responsibilities: Serve as a thesis committee member for student research; engage with the Intelligence Community and private sector as appropriate to ensure up-to-date curriculum, stakeholder engagement, and academic outreach; publish research in peer-reviewed journals or other professional outlets.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
Successful completion of a full course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a Master's Degree that included or was supplemented by a major study (thesis) or work experience in a subject matter appropriate to this position.
Detailed knowledge of counterintelligence, as well curriculum development required for the practice of intelligence in the twenty-first century.
Experience teaching at the graduate school level and/or presenting analysis to senior policymakers.
Expert oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a clear, concise manner that is targeted to, and meets the needs of, diverse audiences with different perspectives and objectives.
Desired Requirements:
Successful completion of a full course of study at an accredited college or university leading to a Doctorate in international affairs, regional studies, social science, or another related field.
Experience with Intelligence Community counterintelligence analysis and/operations and investigations.
Experience with academic course and program development, including the creation and evaluation of academic assessment data and standards.
