This position is located in the Division of Insurance and Research (DIR), Headquarters of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support of the Corporation's efforts to collect, analyze, and manage regulatory data Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Duties

Provide direct support to management on development of data systems, procedures, and operating instructions for the collection, analysis, and distribution of financial regulatory information and non-financial structural data. Advises the Chief and the Supervisory Financial Analysts on strategic decision-making. Proficient in complex accounting, regulatory data’s correlation with market data, capital markets, and the intricate organizational structures of financial institutions, and keeps abreast in tracking regulatory updates, promptly integrating required modifications to maintain operational efficiencies. Provides leadership with the planning and assessment of projects, studies, reports, executive briefings, presentations, and proposals across diverse activities; and oversees the compiling and presenting of management reports that analyze the alignment of policies and programs with predefined division objectives. Leads the development, planning and execution of training programs tailored for both internal and external audiences, including section personnel and bankers.  Facilitates the training on financial and non-financial systems ensuring comprehensive understanding and proficiency. Designs comprehensive training materials and modules to impart essential skills and knowledge; and provides ongoing training and development opportunities for team members fostering skill enhancement and expertise in reporting, accounting principles, and technical systems.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-14 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience gained in a financial regulatory organization (1) Conducting data analysis, data management, and database management for financial institutions (2) Applying bank regulatory accounting principles; and (3) Conducting financial analysis and developing financial analytical reports for financial regulatory organization(s). Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
