Duties

Serve as a Records Clerk performing a variety of complex clerical, administrative and office automation functions in support of the Law Enforcement Division and the Directorate of Emergency Services. Incumbent is relied upon to accomplish overall day-to-day operations independently with limited supervision, resolving complex operational problems on own initiative. Work requires an extensive knowledge and application of a large and complex guides, instructions, regulations and manuals i.e. Uniform Code of Military Justice, Motor Vehicle Traffic Code, Colorado Penal Codes, Colorado Transportation Codes, etc Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, adherence to program requirements and effectiveness in meeting goals and objectives. This position requires the skill of a fully qualified typist. Correct administrative deficiencies found in draft Law Enforcement Reports such as Report of Investigations, alcohol influence report traffic accidents to ensure that charges received are adequate or match the specific offense. Serve as the Warning of Debarment, Post Debarment, and Revocation and Suspension of Installation Driving Privileges clerk for the installation Serve as the Installation primary clerk and trainer for all DA Form 4833 (Commander’s Report of Disciplinary or Administrative Action) completion at unit and Battalion level. Serve as the Law Enforcement Center liaison between the installation and the Law Enforce Center(LEC) Records Office, the Staff Judge Advocate (SJA), Juvenile Rehabilitation Board and the local county and United States District Courts. Provide assistance to walk-in visitors, and telephone callers. Please limit your resume to 5 pages. Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance and/or background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Incumbent may be required to work overtime. Assignment schedule requires continuous availability in the event of emergencies.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) of 20% of the time may be required.
  • One year of probationary period may be required.

Law enforcement reports such as such as report of investigations, supplemental reports, Civil (off-post), DUI, AWOL, traffic accidents, release of prisoner report, fingerprint card, Commander's Report of Disciplinary or Administrative Action, etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
