This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1253000 and is part of the KY SMO, National Guard.

Duties
As a SUPERVISORY EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST - TITLE 32, GS-1670-11, you will supervise, instruct, and train subordinates in the performance of work. Make assignments, check progress, and determine need for changes in the office. Grant leave, hire new employees, and is responsible for the effective operation. Evaluate work performance of subordinates. Direct, coordinate, and manage the material readiness program. Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and management of the surface equipment materiel readiness program and training of maintenance personnel. Serve as the surface maintenance course manager. Coordinate with the Surface Maintenance Manager and Budget Advisory Committee to program funds for maintenance personnel training/schools. Plan, develop, and manage the Maintenance Assistance and Instruction program. Responsible for the development and presentation of class materials. Review training reports, staff visit reports, and inspection reports. Develop and direct implementation of mission support plans for new equipment entering the state's inventory. Determine the impact on maintenance facilities, training, special purpose tools and test equipment, budget, etc. May serve as a member of the State Readiness Committee and as Chief of the MAIT. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience and knowledge of one or more classes of equipment including knowledge of standard shop terminology and a basic knowledge of mechanical principles relating to equipment. Experience reading and interpreting technical publications related to functions such as repairing, overhauling, maintaining, constructing, or inspecting equipment. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 36 months experience overseeing and implementing a maintenance program involving the identification and resolution of difficult issues or problems. Experience preparing budgets based on plans for maintenance, repair work, replacement of existing equipment, and processes to ensure program effectiveness.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
