About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency US Naval Hospital, Directorate of Clinical Support Pharmacy in Agana, Guam.
Serves as the Medical Treatment Facility expert in the medication-use system on all aspects of pharmaceutical care to optimize health outcomes that include: pharmaceuticals, pharmacotherapeutics, clinical pharmacokinetics, Pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, and pharmacogenetics.

Duties
Serve as the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) expert in the medication-use system on all aspects of pharmaceutical care to optimize health outcomes.
Monitor the dispensing of all pharmaceuticals in the MTF and allied facilities.
Develop, with the attending physician, pharmacotherapeutic regimens for especially difficult or complex cases.
Research, evaluate, and recommend which items will be utilized (stocked) based on their indications for use, safety, effectiveness, toxicity, Pharmacoeconomics economy, and appropriateness for the intended use.
Oversee, participate, and monitor all aspects of the medication management system for a patient population to optimize patient outcomes.

- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Degree: Completion of a doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (external link) (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
License: Possess licensure to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Medical Requirement: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors.
Experience Required: Specialized Experience is defined as: at least one year of professional pharmacy experience which includes dispensing medication, preparing pharmaceuticals, and providing inpatient or outpatient functions such as developing pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutic regimens.
