Duties
You will serve as a Senior Data Scientist and lead the team for the most complex projects, and may also serve as a team participant or an independent analyst on professional data science teams.
You will act as AI/ML community of practice lead for the department in which you will manage training, standardization of practice for both technology advancements and information sharing platforms.
You will support command and department strategic initiatives that contribute to road mapping the future development, implementation, sustainment, and support of AI/ML technology.
You will apply data science discipline to data analysis in Cyber, Information Technology and economic analyses of complex and potentially controversial major information technology systems and networks.
You will lead analytical projects, provide direction and guidance to project members of a professional nature in the execution and implementation of projects.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications
In addition to the basic education requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Scientist, developing or maintaining data analysis tools and methodologies for information systems or technology in support of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) programs.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:
1. A bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or field directly related to the position.
or
2. Have a combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a field directly related to the position, plus additional education or appropriate experience that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education and percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
