About the Position: The position is located in the Defense Health Agency, Assistant Director - Combat Support (AD-CS), J3 Operations, Plans, and Requirements Division, in Falls Church, Virginia.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Duties
Prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinate the preparation, presentation, and communication of work related information to the supervisor.
Report on progress of established milestones for completion of assignments, projects, and tasks, and ensure that all team members are aware of and participate in planning for achievement of team goals and objectives.
Activate and coordinates the Joint Operations Center capabilities in support of National Special Security Events, Combatant Command exercises, and real-world incidents of the Combatant Commands and Military Health System.
Participate in crisis action planning in response to DHA participation in contingency situations within the NCR.
Responsible for support to the MTFs on drafting operations orders, coordinating DCIRs and coordination through the Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS).
Ensure that adequate internal control systems are developed and operative so that government resources are efficiently and effectively managed.
Assign work to sections based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and competing requirements for division resources.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of
employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and/or holidays.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing various operational plans (such as contingency plans, functional plans, operations plans, planning orders and associated planning directives), supervising work of employees under the operations branch and advising management on operational policies/procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
