You will serve as a Materials Handler Leader of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.
Duties
You will lead a team of material handlers to ensure efficient and timely movement of inventory within a warehouse, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and productivity.
You will articulate daily work assignments, instructions and work plan received from warehouse supervisor to lower graded employees to ensure continuous workflow of materials.
You will establish work pace and demonstrate proper work methods to organize an effective receiving and storage operations. Verify and identify opportunities to streamline warehouse processes to reduce lead times.
You will organize and coordinate an effective material receiving operation and implement quality control measures to ensure incoming supplies meets specifications and standards before being accepted into the inventory.
You will operate different types of material handling equipment, electric, propane gas, or diesel-powered forklift trucks with a maximum capacity of 36K pounds and oversee a maintenance schedule.
You will possess thorough knowledge of receiving, storing and issuing functions relative to assigned weapon systems, along with key supporting documentation requirements and warehouse procedures.
You will understand regulations regarding storage, handling, and safeguarding of classified material, as well as inventory procedures.
You will Maintain warehouse knowledge, address worker inquiries, and validates completing of objectives.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current forklift license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

An example of the screen out element is : I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks on my own initiative including leading warehouse workers in accomplishing a full range of warehouse functions such as: including receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, stowing, inventorying, and documenting the movement and storage of Classified and Hazardous materials, supplies, and equipment , in accordance with regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage and compliance with requirements; documenting damage, reading and preparing shipping documents; documenting damage, reading and preparing shipping documents; using computer systems to maintain and produce required data; reviewing warehouse plans and storage areas to recommend consolidation or relocation of stored items to maximize warehouse space; inventory items which may include the use of formal, informal, item-by-item, or group inventory methods and using manual or automated inventory systems; operate one or more electric, propane gas, or diesel powered fork lift trucks which are capable of lifting loads of 15,000 pounds determining proper handling and storage procedures.
