You will serve as a TOOLMAKER in the REPAIR DEPARTMENT (TRF300), INSIDE MACHINE SHOP (TRF320) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will assist higher graded employees in the conduct of more complex projects. You will complete detailed nonrecurring assignments. You will apply basic procedures and policies of the organization and field of work.

Requirements

• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Ability to planning and laying out work orders for tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, punches, dies, molds, relates pieces and portable machinery to be developed, fabricated, overhauled, repaired, calibrated, etc. Ability to establishing the setup of common machine tools to perform special and precise machining operations by devising and constructing fixtures and holding devices. Ability to setting up and operation of specialized and precision machines such as jig grinders, internal and external thread grinders that are common to the trade. Ability to applying a wide variety of machine shop procedures, techniques and shop mathematics.
