This position is that of Construction Control Inspector for the Great Plains Area, Office of Environmental Health and Engineering, Indian Health Service. The incumbent serves in the capacity to assist the Division of Sanitation Facilities Construction staff in the implementation of the Public Law 86-121 construction program on Indian Reservations within Great Plains Area.
Duties
Construction inspection of on-going construction work and coordinates construction staking in accordance with plans and specifications. Ability to interpret standard specifications and drawings; recording quantities installed, preparing as-built sketches, maintaining daily construction logs and preparing weekly progress reports, and insuring sanitation facilities are being installed in accordance with contract plans and specifications. Ensuring necessary safety precautions are enforced and a safe working environment is maintained.
Assists project engineer in the project management of the contracts for the construction of individual water and sewer systems. Maintain a complete working file list on all projects. Utilize the acquired field data to make recommendations to the engineer on the design of the individual water and sewer systems
Assists project engineer and/or engineer technician in performing boundary surveys, topographic surveys, level loops, right-of-way surveys, and traverse surveys for project designs, construction staking, and as-builts.
Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-03 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Construction inspection of on-going construction work and coordinates construction staking to include designating locations for trenching, excavations, and facilities in accordance with plans and specifications; interpret standard specifications and drawings; recording quantities installed, preparing as-built sketches, maintaining daily construction logs and preparing weekly progress reports.
GS-05:Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Interpreting plans and specifications; monitoring and inspecting construction materials and workmanship, ensure safety requirements are being followed; conduct home surveys, soil percolation tests, and other investigations; operates survey equipment; prepare and submit weekly progress reports; and assist the project engineer in carrying out project management duties.
GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Interpreting plans and specifications; monitoring and inspecting construction materials and workmanship, ensure safety requirements are being followed; conduct home surveys, soil percolation tests, and other investigations; operates survey equipment; prepare and submit weekly progress reports; and assist the project engineer in carrying out project management duties.
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-06 lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Interpreting sanitary facilities construction plans and specifications recognizing problem areas; monitoring other workers and inspecting construction materials and workmanship to ensure safety requirements are being followed; conduct home surveys, soil percolation tests, and other investigations for sanitation facilities; prepare and submit progress reports of work activities; responsible for work site readiness and construction scheduling.
