Serves as a Physician (Psychiatry), Pine Ridge Service Unit (PRSU), Kyle Health Center, Medical Department located in Kyle, South Dakota. The Psychiatrist will work under the supervision of the Supervisory Psychiatrist. Psychiatry services are provided primarily via telehealth, but may also be provided via direct care, store-and-forward, and other tele-psychiatry based means.

Duties

Provides psychiatry services for patients presenting with all levels of mental health needs i.e. acute care, neuropsychiatric problems of severe and extreme complexity, psychosis, organic brain syndrome, and substance abuse and addictions. Serves as a consultant to the medical staff, residents, nurses, pharmacists, and behavioral health professionals. Provides various consultations and instruction in care, within the scope of practice, to providers in the behavioral health department and in other departments. Clinical services provided include but are not limited to the following: assessments, crisis stabilization, psychotherapy, interactive therapies, behavior modification planning, group therapy, monitor medications and consultations. Services are provided with a sensitive understanding of culturally relevant issues, sensitivity and respect.

Examples of experience include: Provide a full range of direct patient care services such as thorough evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning and other psychological or psychotherapeutic services; and psychopharmacology. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
