The position is located at the Rosebud Service Unit, Rosebud, South Dakota in a 35-bed unit with the following services: general medical and surgical, obstetrics, pediatrics, operating room, central supply and outpatient nursing.

Duties

Performs advanced nursing duties in accordance with education, experience, and professional nurse, supervision direct and indirect as indicated in connection with nursing services to chronic and acutely ill adult and pediatric patients. Assist with the admission of patients. Performs technical procedures for selected patients under the immediate direction of professional nurse. Cooperates with other departments in providing a safe, comfortable, and clean patient environment.

INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT(S): OPM Link: Nursing Assistant Series 0621 (opm.gov) In addition to the Individual Occupational Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-0621-04: Six (6) months of specialized experience and six (6) months of general experience equivalent to at least the 03 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Performing a variety of nonprofessional nursing care work in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other medical, nursing, or patient care facility, or in such work as that of a home health aide. OR 2-year degree program in an accredited community college, junior college, or college or university in practical nursing or in a field of study appropriate to the specialization of the position, such as education in a program for a psychology, psychiatric, or operating room technician. (Must submit transcripts). OR Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
