The Supervisory Clinical Psychologist position is located in the Behavioral Health Department (BHD) at the Pine Ridge Service Unit (PRSU), Indian Health Service in Pine Ridge, SD. The Supervisory Clinical Psychologist serves as the Behavioral Health Director. Works in a regularly assigned, rotation or call back basis to provide continuity of mental health services during evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends
Duties
Provides services to individual, and family therapy, psychological testing and evaluation, crisis, Intervention, community consultation, outpatient services, consultative psychiatric and psychological services.
Provides intensive clinical practice consisting of professional judgment and the ability to use a wide range of psychological skills.
Provides for the overall training, development and supervision of Behavioral Health Department staff. Plans and assigns work to BH staff based on PRSU priorities and capabilities of employees. Evaluates BH staff work performance
Carries full professional responsibility for cases representing a wide range of psychosocial, cultural and environment problems, the work is complex and changes continuously, depending on the situation and clients risk/needs.
Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Being responsible for overall planning, organizing, improving and implementing behavioral, health issues; providing administrative, supervision for behavioral health staff and clinical supervision for appropriate staff to assure compliance with accrediting bodies; providing psychological care and consultation services, to patients in the area while establishing behavioral health standards of care and as a senior clinician; providing a wide range of psychological testing, evaluation and clinical services; providing leadership In the development of policies and procedures, related to outpatient psychiatric services.

Selective Placement Factor: Possess an active, current, unrestricted, state license as Clinical Psychologist
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
