THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0876000 and is part of the IL AASF 1, National Guard.
Duties
As a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC (TITLE 32), WG-2604-5/8/11, you will perform repair, maintenance, modification, overhaul, and installation of complex electronic systems and/or a portion of a complete electronic integrated system involving work on a number of subsystems but not requiring the integration of all operable subsystems into a functional integrated system.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:
The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, knowledge of common testing procedures, skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematics.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-11 Level - MUSTpossess specialized experience which includes experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions, and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment; experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems; experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment; experience in using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels, etc.; and experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications. WG-08 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includes experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment; experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems; experience in using hand tools, power tools and gauges to make intricate repairs; experience in using diagnostic and testing equipment; and experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.
