The primary purpose of this position is: To manage all aspects of 0081 information systems to include: support, training, installations, and retrieval of data for MXG.
Duties
Administers G081 information systems to ensure proper operation of equipment, analyze and resolve system problems, and evaluate system requirements.
Serves as G081 Database Systems Manager. Administers the process and considers user requests for additional computer software and printer ports.
Provides training and assistance and ensures information accountability for G081 associated computer equipment.
Provides management information system services to customers that includes: database retrieval, data analysis, and direction in providing customers with a detailed listing of information resources available in G081.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the generalized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Computer Clerk and Assistant Series 0335 (opm.gov)
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-08, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes; experience with utilizing current system software supported at the organization to include operating system and application software packages; the utilization of computer equipment, internal computer processes, application/utility programs, and magnetic media; utilizing a wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify system failures, take corrective actions, and implement procedures to allow for partial use until problems are resolved. Apply a wide range of computer techniques, requirements, sources, and procedures.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-08 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of automated data processing and networking standards, policies, and techniques; and of facility environment and infrastructure to support computer systems, and to provide user support.
2. Knowledge of computer hardware and software systems, including G081 interfaces; and higher level programming languages.
3. Knowledge of data content and output options for a variety of administrative, scientific and/or technical program applications that are processed on any of several multi-program operating systems.
4. Knowledge of data analysis and statistical methodology to support data analysis.
5. Ability to use and maintain a computer system, equipment, and software; and analyze computer network, software, and hardware problems and develop effective and economical solutions.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to train users and provide assistance to customers
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
