Duties

Lead or assist in the IG function of inspections by participating in the planning or conduct of compliance, systemic and follow-up inspections on installation. Assist in the IG function of investigations to resolve allegations of impropriety brought to an IG by conducting fact-finding investigations and investigative inquiries as directed. Leads or assist in the IG function of teach and train by teaching relevant policy, procedures, systems and processes to help organizations and activities improve operations and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a SECRET or TOP SECRET (with drug test requirements) level of security clearance.
  • Position requires approximately 25% travel away from permanent duty location.
  • This position requires the Inspector General Oath.
  • Must successfully complete required technical training in accordance with AR 20-1, Inspector General Activities and Procedures.

Aviation and Missile Center is a Demonstration Laboratory, and positions are placed in pay bands. The pay band for this position, NH-3, is equivalent to GS-12 through GS-13. If the qualifications of the applicant selected for the vacancy exceeds the minimum required, placement salary maybe adjusted higher to commensurate with those qualifications.
