THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 5 ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT INSPECTOR (MI 127 WG), Position Description Number NGT5792000 and is part of the MI 127 Wing, National Guard.

Duties

***THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION*** This position is located at Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL), Otis ANG MA/Selfridge ANG MI/Duluth ANG MN/Forbes ANG KS. The primary purpose of this position is to perform inspection of diverse Test, Measurement , and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), repair and maintenance work in a PME laboratory environment involving a variety of standard and nonstandard equipment to determine that the physical and operative characteristics are within acceptable parameters , specifications, or technical order requirements. 1. Performs inspections on the final tuning, alignment, calibration, trouble shooting, repair, test, maintenance, and certifications of a variety of standard and nonstandard TMDE and electronic test equipment such as microwave equipment, radar and missile test consoles, high frequency sampling and storage oscilloscopes, distortion analyzers, recording oscillographs, and digital delay generators. 2. Administers Quality Program for PMEL as defined in T.0. 00-20-14. 3. Analyzes and isolates maintenance problems in common, complex, and unusual measurement equipment. Coordinates with item managers, design engineers, and manufacturers' representatives to resolve maintenance or calibration problems. 4. Maintains records and documents actions. 5. Uses and maintains tools and equipment. 6. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain s a safe and clean work environment. 7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft/vehicle to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Must have a valid civilian driver’s license.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 18 Months Experience or training with basic application of operating principles such as the production and utilization of oscillations over a broad range of frequencies; signal and waveform behavior, distortion, and amplification; pulse, trigger, and synchronization techniques; digital/analog processing and data conversion techniques; and a variety of display and indication methods. Experience in tracing signals and voltage paths, and skilled in the analysis of waveform characteristics such as timing, duration, frequency, and phasing. Originates test set-ups to isolate malfunctions and check performance characteristics of special or unique test panels or mockups. Experience in interpreting and applying a variety of technical electronic information such as schematic symbols, mathematical expressions and formulas, calibration procedures, and other reference materials. Experience in applying established techniques and methods of repair, testing, alignment, and calibration of equipment, which serves as test equipment or precision measurement standards. Experience in utilizing electronic circuits to measure electronic or electrical quantities to determine the performance characteristics and accuracy of other instruments and equipment.
