This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Ensures for program integrity, overseeing the utilization of Housing and Urban Development - Veteran Affairs Supported Housing (HUD-VASH) Program vouchers in their coverage area. Supervises staff from other CHOS programs. Clinical Provides timely screening, psychosocial assessment, and diagnoses of mental disorders. Develops, implements, and documents the psychosocial assessment, treatment plan, progress notes and updates, and discharge planning for provision of clinical services. Provides psychoeducation. Provides consultation to health care providers. Conducts routine suicide risk screens; comprehensive suicide risk evaluations, and collaborative safety plans; follows-up with Veterans; seek needed consultation with the Suicide Prevention Coordinator, Disruptive Behavior Committee, and/or CHOS Program Manager to ensure the safety and welfare of Veterans; remains up to date on suicide prevention training materials and clinical tools. Available to aid and problem-solving. Assume complete professional responsibility for their clinical assessment findings, Veteran care decisions, and documentation. Provides consultation and supervision to social work trainees and unlicensed staff. Provides leadership in identifying and addressing ethical issues that impact patients and staff. Participates in regularly scheduled clinical consultations. Perform part of work in community settings. Perform other related duties as assigned. Administrative Responsible for furthering the goals of equal employment opportunity. Provides education to staff regarding whistle blower protections. Leads and provides training/supervision of multidisciplinary staff. Monitors compliance of staff members. Performs voucher reconciliation and monitoring of utilization. Leading and facilitating quality improvement projects. Identifying eligible Veterans and assigning them to case managers. Ensuring accuracy of data collection. Monitor and manage electronic medical homeless consults. Participate in all accreditations and mandatory surveys. Serves as a key POC for VA CHOS program among local housing authorities, Continuums of Care (COC) and community partners. Attends and participates in regular leadership meetings. Participates in the hiring of new staff members for the team. Achieves clinical workload expectations. Be able to supervise staff at various sites indirectly. Uses group processes to identify, analyze and resolve care problems. Shares expertise with internal and/or external customers to the organization. Inputs relevant information into the HOMES database and the Veteran's electronic health record. Oversees staff members and provides feedback and necessary training. Develop and implement information systems to track service activities. Performs work related to the review, monitoring, analysis, planning and assessment of the programs and projects. Participates actively in emergency management and safety practices. Serves as a steward of program resources. Applies knowledge to provide care. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of existing pay, higher or unique qualifications, or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year). Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education: Have a master's degree in social worker from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Licensure: Individuals assigned as Supervisory Social Workers must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Loss of Licensure or Certification: Once licensed or certified, social workers must maintain a full, valid, and unrestricted independent license or certification to remain qualified for employment. Loss of licensure or certification will result in removal from the GS-0185 social worker series and may result in termination of employment. Grade Determinations: Supervisory Social Worker, GS-12 Education and Experience: One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in a specialty area or in administration demonstrating progressively more professional competency and judgment. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. Licensure/Certification: Individuals assigned as Supervisory Social Workers must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs: Ability to independently organize work, set priorities, and meet multiple deadlines. Knowledge of supervisory duties which includes clinical supervision, consultation, negotiation with other departments and quality improvement. Ability to ensure provision of clinical social work services. Ability to provide staff training and development. (e) Skill in interpersonal relationships in dealing with employees, team leaders, and managers. Assignment: For all assignments above the full performance level, the higher-level duties must consist of significant scope, complexity (difficulty), and variety and be performed by the incumbent at least 25% of the time. At the GS-12 grade level, supervisory social workers typically have significant personnel management responsibilities for a small to moderate sized professional and non-professional staff, including support staff and professional staff at the GS-12 grade level and below. The supervisory social worker is responsible for the professional and administrative management of an area in a social work service, in a care/product line, or multiple facilities. They provide direct clinical services with or without program coordination responsibilities. References: VA Handbook 5005/120 Part II Appendix G39 The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-12. Physical Requirements: This work requires light lifting (under 15lbs), light carrying, use of fingers, operation of motor vehicle, and mental and emotional stability.
