THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D2284P01 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard.

Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to supervise employees who install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The supervisor in this career field must also possess the ability to perform on-or-off equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. MAJOR DUTIES: Planning: Serves as section supervisor, exercising supervisory responsibility over assigned integrated systems repair and maintenance work operations. Work Direction: Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes; implements corrective actions, within authority, to resolve work problems. Administration: Supports and explains management programs to subordinates. Implements safety regulatory requirements. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard or eligible to transfer into the COANG.
• Must hold the grade of E-7 or E-8.
• Submit all required documentation.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-7 or E-8 1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience in performing, training and/or supervising assigned integrated systems repair and maintenance work operations. 2. Experience in the maintenance, repair, and modification of integrated multi-complex avionics systems. 3. Experience including redirecting individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work. 4. Experience in planning current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommending projected work. 5. Experience including implementing corrective actions, within authority, to resolve work problems. 6. Experience involving advising and counseling workers on how to improve their performance through explanations and demonstrations of work techniques. 7. Experience in participating in readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. 8. Experience working in accident/mishap responses, shift supervision, special project management, heavy equipment operations, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or served as a team member that responded to natural disasters or civil emergencies.

Education

Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
