This position is located at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in the Facility Management Division.

Duties
Operates one or more motor vehicles including platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, specialty pumping equipment, and trash removal trucks which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000 pounds and up to 32,000 pounds or more. Vehicles are usually equipped with air brakes. Vehicles are driven on the basis of either specific trip assignments or regularly established schedules over public roads (or the equivalent) at highway speeds to transport passengers, supplies, materials, or equipment and tools, or to tow equipment throughout rural or urban areas. Operates vehicles over rough terrain, in close quarters, and in heavy traffic on both long and short hauls. Performs operator maintenance on all vehicles operated (e.g., monitoring fluid levels, replacing air filters, and interior lights, checking tire pressure and hose connections, and washing and sanitize the vehicle). The following are a list of daily duties:
Operation of motor vehicles such as sewage pumping trucks, trash trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, or pickup trucks with and without trailers.
Janitorial work such as cleaning and maintaining a public school, cleaning and maintaining public restrooms, cleaning and maintaining picnic areas, litter pick up, and cleaning and maintaining fish cleaning stations.
Maintenance work such as mowing, painting, landscaping, minor plumbing repairs, and minor carpentry repairs.
Operator maintenance to vehicles and equipment operated such as checking and topping off fluids, checking tires, or cleaning.
Maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsement.
Operate small watercraft in the performance of their duties.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:

In preparing your application, describe in detail the experience and training which you have had that specifically prepared you for this job performing the following duties: (1) operate commercial vehicles over 26,000 lbs. GVWR including a sewage pump truck, trash compactor truck, water truck, dump truck, and pickup trucks with and without trailers in a safe manner; (2) complete routine operator maintenance, safety checks, and light preventative maintenance on vehicles operated; (3) complete janitorial and maintenance tasks such as cleaning and maintaining public restrooms, cleaning and maintaining picnic areas, picking up litter, cleaning and maintaining fish cleaning stations, painting, landscaping; (4) maintained a commercial driver's license. Education
