This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervisor Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA DBC/CYBER DEVELOPMENT DIRECTORATE.

Duties

The incumbent will develop policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks and data. The incumbent will Provide project management oversight to ensure all aspects of the compliance validation program are adequately addressed, monitored and reported in accordance with established processes and standards. The incumbent will be responsible for the development of security portions of Service Level Agreements, will ensure execution of the requisite coordination and liaison actions. The incumbent will Develop, validate, and coordinate Information Technology and Information Assurance operation and maintenance procedures and oversees development of risk assessments of current and planned IT systems. The will incumbent actively serves as a matrix team leader and senior project manager for the Cyber Security Section within the Collaboration Services Branch. The incumbent will design enterprise and system security throughout the development lifecycle; they will translate technology and environmental conditions (e.g., law and regulation) into security designs and processes. The incumbent will oversee and manage certification and accreditation support requirements requested on a fee for service basis from external organizations.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.

  • Top Secret security clearance required
  • Required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450
  • Must obtain Acquisition certification in the Program Management Functional Area at the Practitioner Functional Tier within 60 months of entry into this position, in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.66

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards. Customer Service- experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs. Oral Communication- briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience. Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions. AND Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in serving as a senior computer security specialist and performing analyses and project management tasks relative to information system and network security support to the agency and its constituents. Implementing, maintaining, and analyzing procedures and security requirements in order to determine overall technical features and security protection for systems and networks processing all sensitivity levels of information. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.
