You will serve as a PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Security Division, Executive Department, of PSNS and IMF
Duties
You will administer all functions associated with processing PSNS and IMF employees for security clearances.
You will assist in the administration of the Personnel Security program rules, regulations, and procedures for Command, Ships Force, and contractor personnel.
You will conduct personnel security interviews to obtain details related to information associated with security clearance eligibility criteria.
You will screen and analyze various types of security investigations, ensuring completeness and to identify derogatory information and falsification.
You will prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation related to security matters.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to obtain a Security Clearance- Obtain Secret with SSBI or T5: You are willing and able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance with Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or Tier 5 (T5).
Qualifications
For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responding to inquiries for verification of security clearances and conducting security interviews to obtain information associated with security clearance eligibility.
For the GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Gathering and analyzing security information to assist higher level Security Specialists with security clearance eligibility matters.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
FOR GS-09:
I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
I have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree
OR
I have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
