About the Position: The Supply Technician position is located with the Directorate of Public Works, Work Management Branch at Fort Riley, KS.
Duties
Enter, retrieve, and update data in an automated purchasing system.
Use a government purchase card to procure supplies.
Receives monthly purchase card statements of accounts and ensures the statement balances with purchases made.
Research supplier databases, catalogs and other publications to extract product information, costs, and availability of supplies.
Research supplier catalog databases to locate more cost-effective supply substitute available for purchase.
Research customer supply problems and takes the appropriate action to resolve the issue.
Perform stock level inventories and analyzes the results.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes making purchases for routine supply requests; researching and resolving customer supply problems; and/or inputting data into supply database. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
