Duties
Technical leadership and execution for data science and engineering activities will be provided to the ADLP Research Data and Computing Office. This will involve expertise in establishing data science projects, execution and reporting. Requirements and architecture design for data science implementation will be completed. Coordination of resource activity across the contributing organizational units and ensuring technical efforts are aligned will be a critical element of performance. Stakeholder engagement will be performed to facilitate development and utilization of the NIST research data systems. As a key role in the Research Data and Computing Office, this position will support coordination and communications which ensure NIST research data systems are compliant with policy and that they address organization mission priorities.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
A. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
IN ADDITION to the basic qualification requirements above, an applicant must meet the criteria below:
Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of the specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level (ZP-III at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience:
- Using Data Science applications and operations in scientific environments.
- Project leadership skills, project management, agile software engineering.
- Computer Science skills
- Operational management of data systems.
- Engineering program management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
