Duties
The Aviation Safety Inspector (Aircraft Dispatch) serves at the certificated dispatch/operational control expert technical authority to interface between assigned air carriers/course operators/designated aircraft dispatcher examiners (DADE) and the FAA.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Front and BACK copy of Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate is required with application.
Qualifications
All applicants must meet the following basic requirements:Not more than two separate incidents involving Federal Aviation Regulations violations in the last 5 years;Valid State driver's license;Fluency in English;No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance; andHigh school graduate or equivalent.Medical Requirements: Applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of the Aviation Safety Inspector Aircraft Dispatch position. They must:Have good distant vision in each eye and be able to read, without strain, printed materials the size of typewritten characters (glasses and contact lenses permitted);Have the ability to hear the conversational voice (hearing aid permitted); andNot have any physical condition that would cause them to be a hazard to themselves or others that would interfere with the their ability to fly as passengers in a variety of aircraft.Specialized Experience Requirements: In addition to meeting the basic requirements, applicants must meet the specialized experience requirements as outlined below.Aircraft Dispatcher CertificateRecency of experience: A portion of the applicant’s specialized experience must have been gained within the last three years.At least two years of experience as a part 121 scheduled domestic and/or scheduled international (flag) dispatcher, and at least one year of experience in at least one of the following positions:Air Transportation Supervisor (ATS);Designated Aircraft Dispatcher Examiner (DADE);An Aircraft Dispatcher with primary responsibility for developing, creating, and/or revising dispatch manuals and procedures which require a comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements and current FAA policy for a Part 121 Air Carrier; orA Dispatch Instructor for a Part 121 Air Carrier.Your work history examples should be specific and clearly reflect the highest level of ability.
Education
