This is a NAF position with the 17th Force Support Squadron, located at Bowling Center on Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas. This position is considered Regular Part-Time (RPT). You are guaranteed 20 hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours/week. You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. As a RPT employee, you are eligible to earn annual/sick leave and sign up for benefits, to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and NAF Retirement.

Duties

Installs, adjusts, repairs, overhauls and regularly inspects bowling facility electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment to include automatic pinsetter, automatic ball returns, speed cradle stops, automatic score and foul units, automatic hall cleaners, hole bores, and lane maintenance machines. Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment refer ing to manuals for diagrams and specifications. Follows manufacturer's maintenance schedules but makes changes as necessary. Disassembles and replaces or repairs mechanical and electrical components or parts using soldering irons, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and other hand tools. Measures and regulates sweep of rakes on automatic pinsetters using hand tools and gauges. Runs automatic pinsetter through complete cycle and! inspects for pin setting accuracy. Conditions, maintains, and repairs bowling pins and lanes. Repairs cracks, chips, and splinters using wood and plastic lane stock. and sanding and recoating surfaces. Performs other mechanical and electrical work to bowling facility as time and capabilities permit. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have previous experience in the maintenance and repair of bowling equipment which provided a thorough knowledge of the mechanical an electrical principles and operating characteristics of bowling equipment and standard test equipment, and the ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and manufacturer's service manuals. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally push or pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, climb, stand, and work in awkward positions. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre­employment physical to include annual audio test. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier-I background investigation.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
