Supervise the performance of clerical and technical work that is associated with the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fee revenue and donations collected from the public under legal authorities such as the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA). As a supervisor, spend at least 25% or more of the time supervising a minimum of four subordinates (employees, volunteers, and/or noncontractor personnel) that perform clerical and technical Recreation Fee Program work.

Duties

Supervises subordinate recreation fee clerk positions and manages the daily activities of fee collection operations. Plans, schedules, and assigns work to subordinate staff and provides technical and policy direction. Interviews candidates for vacancies; makes recommendations for selection of new employees. Approves leave and assures timely completion of time and attendance schedules. Evaluates performance of subordinate staff and takes action to deal with inadequate performance, gives advice, counsel, and instructions to employees on work and administrative matters. Assists with and oversees the preparation of deposits and remittances. Operates and maintains cash registers and other equipment. Communicates verbally and in writing to diverse audiences of internal and external customers. Provides exceptional customer service and support to all visitors and colleagues. Buffalo National River: Buffalo National River was established in 1972 as the country's first national river, the park protects 135 miles of river from near its origin in the Boston Mountains to the confluence with the White River in Northwest Arkansas. Nearly 100,000 acres in size, roughly one third of the park's land base is designated wilderness. Heavily wooded and extremely rugged terrains are found throughout the park along with numerous hidden caves and waterfalls. There are over 100 miles of maintained trails for hiking and horseback use. There are two developed campgrounds and eight primitive campgrounds throughout the entire park. Of the two developed campgrounds, only one offers amenities such as water and electricity hook ups for visitors. The park is divided into 3 districts for management purposes: Upper, Middle and Lower. There are visitor contact facilities in each of the three districts. The duty station is located in St Joe, Arkansas. This is in the Middle District of the park. St. Joe is a town of approximately 125 people located in north central Arkansas, about 60 miles south of the Arkansas-Missouri state line. Harrison, AR is located 35 miles north and has a population of approximately 14,000 people. Harrison offers K-12 schools, a community college, restaurants, shopping, groceries, a performing arts theatre, a hospital, and specialized clinics. Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-06/07/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized Experience is experience managing or leading an operation that performs fee collection, accounting, or financial duties to include operating a point-of-sale system; performing recurring or standardized accounting transactions such as remittances and bank deposits in automated financial systems; ensuring accountability of funds and accurate financial record; and resolving software issues that arise in the remittance and/or fee collection process. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
