This announcement will be used to fill positions with an entry grade of GS-07 or GS-08 with a target grade of GS-08.The minimum salary for grade GS-07 is $51,115, the maximum salary is $66,450. The minimum salary for grade GS-08 is $56,607, the maximum salary is $73,587.
Duties
Serves as Work Leader by identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks to team members in accordance with established workflow, and assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
Analyzes errors/omissions determining their cause, e.g., invalid appropriation, operating agency, element of resource, fiscal station, transaction report code, etc., and performs required corrective action.
Contacts activities to resolve and/or correct accounting data or reporting problems, obtain required information, or to follow-up on late/missing data.
Assists in implementing and maintaining Internal Control Program requirements to protect against waste, fraud, and abuse.
Reviews, verifies, reconciles, and analyzes a variety of expenditure and status report listings reflecting or including accounting data from funding documents, commitments, obligations, liabilities, income, expense, and expenditures, etc.
For vacancies filled at less than the full performance level of the position, duties will be developmental in nature.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-06 for GS-07 level and GS-07 for GS-08 level) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
For GS-07: Specialized experience at the GS-06 grade level is defined as: maintaining accounting or financial ledgers, posting financial transactions, preparing accounting reports, reconciling accounts, and working with a variety of accounting and automated financial system.
For GS-08: Specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level is defined as: reconciling accounts in accounting systems involving extensive subdivision of accounts, frequent and varied adjustments to accounts, or extensive balancing and reconciling of detailed summary accounts; resolving problems in balancing accounts, and adjusting discrepancies; and providing technical information to internal and external customers on accounting support processing, policies, procedures, and functions.
GS-07 Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-07, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in Federal Service.
GS-08 Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-08, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Education
GS-07 Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
