You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the ORDNANCE OPERATIONS DIVISION of NMC CWD DET SB/FALLBROOK ANNEX.

Duties

You will plan, direct, and control requisitioning, recording, and distribution of expendable ordnance. You will monitor operation of staff to ensure effective use of personnel, facilities, and material. You will develop plans, policy, and guidelines for subordinates relating to program goals, individual performance standards, and quality checks. You will study, investigate, and analyze problems in the quality and quantity of work and operating effectiveness of the unit and take necessary corrective action. You will ensure the management of all ammunition assets is correct, efficient, and responsive to the customer and fleet. You will guide and monitor the establishment and maintenance storage plans for all ordnance materials. You will assign work to subordinates based on priority, difficulty of the task and capabilities of the employee. You will identify developmental training needs of employees.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating inventory operations by utilizing an automated inventory management systems to compile and analyze inventory data in order to identify deficiencies and recommend changes to support ordnance operations. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR

OR
Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
