The purpose of this position is to serve in the Administrative Support Section as the Facilities Services Assistant for all shops and units of the Maintenance & Operations Section and the Biomedical Engineering Section. This position will report directly to the Facility Manager.

Duties

Duties of the position include but are not limited to: Tracks the equipment inventory from purchase, through its useful life to turn in Enters data on preventive maintenance procedures and frequency Collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of the Work Order Program Reviews documents and reports for completeness Ensures costs are properly tracked with the referenced work orders Uses Vista AEMS/MERS software applications to draw out information Issues status reports to supervisors for equipment management, work order management, and control point activity Advises the various shop supervisors of the status of work orders and uses File Manager to export data into spreadsheets to provide with reports Prepares, composes, or reviews correspondence prepared for the purpose of obtaining or supplying information Serves as the Alternate Time and Attendance Clerk for Engineering Service Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/06/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. A SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Specialized Experience. We will not make assumptions when reviewing applications. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: GS-06 Grade Level: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Provide a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties to include work order management, general filing of reports, assists scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities. . GS-07 Grade Level: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Compose or review office correspondence using a variety of software, data entry, review audits, maintain various reports and spreadsheets, and program management. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: ComputersCustomer ServiceSystems ThinkingTechnical Competence Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Typically, the employee sits to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Work Environment: The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting rooms and training rooms. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. On occasion, the incumbent will meet with engineering maintenance staff to review work in the shop environment and be exposed to higher risks associated with an engineering machinery shop.
