As a Security Specialist with the Office of Protective Services, you will serve as the point of contact for coordinating, consolidating and submitting sensitive compartmented information packages to the authorizing agency. You will provide direction and implement security guidelines while developing and processing visit authorization requests. You will identify and propose solutions to problems significant to program planning.
Duties
Serve as the point of contact for coordinating, consolidating and submitting sensitive compartmented information packages to the authorizing agency.
Review necessary documentation and assures compliance with policy and prepares specialized protective services documents for Agency approval.
Provide direction and implement security guidelines while developing and processing visit authorization requests.
Design and conduct a wide variety of comprehensive studies and detailed analyses of complex functions and processes related to long range planning.
Provide technical and administrative guidance in the implementation of Multi-security discipline programs.
Prepare and contribute to reports and other presentations on program planning and evaluation. Identify and propose solutions to problems significant to program planning.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:
Applying security guidelines, policies and regulations as it applies to access to facilities and information;
Administering a comprehensive institutional security program to protect employees, property, and information;
Applying multi-disciplined security principles, concepts, and methodology.
