This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Program Operations and Local Engagement (OPOLE), Medicare Program Operations and Integrity Group (MPOIG).
As a Supervisory Program Manager, GS-0340-15, you will serve as a Deputy Group Director sharing full responsibility in the management of all phases of the organization's work.
Duties
Directs the work of the Medicare Program Operations and Integrity Group (MPOIG) Deputy Group Director and staff.
Exercises the final authority for the full range of personnel actions and organization design proposals recommended by subordinate supervisors.
Ensures that strategic functional needs are assessed and that programmatic goals are developed for implementation.
Establishes the strategic direction for the MPOIG to ensure the successful completion of Medicare fee-for-service operations and program integrity field responsibilities.
Represents Innovation and Financial Management (IFM) on task forces related to CMS issues and concerns.
Oversees CMS processing of inquiries received from Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries, advocates, physicians, stakeholders, Congressional offices, CMS contractors, and government agencies.

In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1) Providing advice and consultation to internal and external customers on Medicare programs and policies;
2) Collaborating with internal and external partners (including health officials, community and industry representatives, and government officials) to advance organizational initiatives that improve healthcare quality, value and access; And
3) Setting strategic direction of continuous improvement activities in financial management or operations for an organization by analyzing, recommending and implementing proposed changes.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current or former Federal employees and current or former Federal employees applying under the VEOA eligibility who hold or have held a permanent General Schedule position in the previous year must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
