Duties
You will assist maintenance workers, maintenance mechanics, heavy equipment operators, and various tradespersons in the performance of
a variety of multi-trade or craft duties.
You will operate, maintain, and repair buildings, roads, grounds, and equipment.
You will assist with troubleshooting and repairing electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), boiler repair and cleaning,
and plumbing system components.
You will perform building maintenance and repair work including carpentry, masonry, glass, and paint.
You will support routine and emergency service work, repair, and minor construction projects.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You may be required to lift and carry up to 100 pounds but the average weight varies between 30 to 70 pounds and is carried for short distances.
- You must have normal vision and hearing with or without corrective devices, depth perception and the ability to distinguish basic color related to electircal wiring, paints, tiles, etc.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You are required to furnish basic hand tools typical of the trade. Special tools pertaining to the trade wll be furnished by the organization.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This position performs common tasks including providing assistance to higher graded tradespersons in performing multi-trade maintenance and repair tasks (e.g., maintaining and repairing buildings, roads and grounds) and equipment involved in the upkeep of facilities.
