THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MANAGEMENT ANALYST (TITLE 32) ON BOARD ONLY, Position Description Number NGD1913000 and is part of the TN ARMY National Guard. This vacancy is not eligible for membership to a labor organization.

Duties

As a MANAGEMENT ANALYST, GS-0343-09, you will review organizational information regarding inventory management, storage management, equipment coordination fiscal and supply management utilizing inspection reports, applicable Department of Army (DA) regulations, and activity mission statements to identify tentative sub-objectives or firm objectives regarding stock record operations. Perform management studies of organization's auditable entity to identify potential problems such as reviewing operating procedures and management practices of the activity. Conduct troubleshooting and management studies to ascertain the need for changes in existing management systems or methods of operation such as work processes, functional responsibility, operating techniques, organizational structure and other factors effecting the efficient and economical use of available resources. Assignments may involve several specialized areas of management such as organizational analysis, work methods and standards, procedure analysis, and management statistics. Participate in providing management consulting services on all aspects of improving management operations for the state. Provide liaison assistance, as required, to external organizations with responsibility for coordinating their activities with the USPFO. Accomplish management studies by applying best business practices and basic audit techniques to gather, document, and summarize data. Prepare management studies which present findings identifying causative situations and recommending corrective action. Responsible for the work of assigned personnel. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
  • Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance Secret the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Enlisted: O-1 through O-3 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in administrative, professional, investigative, technical or other responsible work which demonstrates analytical ability and a practical and theoretical knowledge of the functions, processes and principles of management. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience which has provided a working knowledge of the National Guard organizational structures, functions, procedures, and techniques. Experience analyzing, interpreting and developing policies and procedures of local management.
