This National Guard position is for a INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number D0814000 and is part of the 174TH ATKW, National Guard.

Duties
As an Industrial Hygiene Technician, GS-0640-10, you will plan, schedule, execute, manage, and administer the Industrial Hygiene/Bioenvironmental Engineering (IH/BEE) Program, which includes occupational health/industrial hygiene, radiation safety, and environmental monitoring to maintain and promote the health and wellbeing of military and technician personnel.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications
Military Grades: Enlisted Only
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Positions in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled. Must have knowledge of OSHA, AFOSH, EPA, and other federal laws and related programs, and of DoD, USAF, and ANG regulations, policies and procedures related to bioenvironmental engineering and occupational/ industrial health. Experience with a broad range of methods, techniques, and principles of occupational health and industrial hygiene sufficient to independently manage a local ANG Industrial Hygiene/Bioenvironmental Engineering program. Must have experience independently planning and implementing the day-to-day ANG IH/BEE program, with latitude for using knowledge/judgment and for taking initiative in accomplishing established goals through accepted occupational health/industrial hygiene practices.
