You will serve as an Industrial Mechanical Inspector (Ships) Leader in the Quality Assurance Office, Non-Nuclear Inspection Division, Code 133 of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will check inspections while in progress and when finished. You will maintain a current knowledge and answer questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. You will perform mechanical, piping, and structural inspections. You will perform pre-arrival and material condition assessment inspections. You will perform in-process, product, pre-test, test inspections. You will perform certification and acceptance of completed work reviews on nuclear reactor plan, refueling, and overhaul work.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

  • Work may require lifting, and/or carrying, generally not in excess of forty-four pounds.
