You will serve as a BOILER PLANT OPERATOR in the PRODUCTION DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will operate a boiler with responsibility for the operation of all equipment in the boiler plants during the shift. You will fire/operate gas fired boilers and multi-fuel boilers with capacities up to 60,000 pounds of steam per hour, igniting boilers by operation of electronic controls. You will regulate oil temperature in storage tanks.

Qualifications

Adjusting feed water pumps, steam regulators, and steam valves while under pressure. 2. following preventive maintenance procedures and making simple operational repairs like lubrication, repacking, valves, and cleaning equipment. 3. Indicating and recording instruments and flow meters and correctly interpreting the information gained there-from for entry on the hourly log.
