You will serve as a PIPEFITTER LEADER in the Corpus Christi PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Duties

You will serve as a working leader installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing high-pressure piping systems and equipment such as steam-heating, hydraulic systems, steam generators, circulating pumps, and radiators. You will install and inspect relieve valves, check valves, pressure regulators, expansion joints, and other pressure supporting and controlling devices. You will work from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and lay out routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion, and operation of various piping systems and equipment. You will pass along instruction from the supervisor, get work started, set pace, demonstrate proper work methods and answer question regarding procedures, policies, instructions, and other directives. You will check work in progress and when finished see that instructions/requirements and deadlines are met.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Management Discretion.

The Screen-out Element for this position 1) Installing and/ or repairing water mains, main water valves, water meters, pressure reducing valves, fire hydrants, back flow prevention valves, sprinklers, and fire protection equipment. 2) Testing systems and equipment for proper pressures, leak-free joints, and operation.3) Follows instructions provided by supervisor on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.4) Ensuring compliance with applicable procedures, specifications, trade practices, and safety regulations.
