About the Position: This position is for a Strategic Planner at ask Force 40-25 within U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. TF 40-25 is an irregular warfare-focused task force supporting theater special operations commands, combatant commands, and interagency partners.
Duties
Interface with Theater Special Operations Commands, Combatant Commands and inter agency partners to develop strategic transregional irregular warfare plans.
Advises on all aspects of policy, planning, review and research as related to military plans and irregular warfare operations.
Ensures the identification of required ARSOF capabilities through the analysis of OSD’s analytical agenda of Defense Planning Scenarios (DPSs), Theater Campaign Plans, Campaign Support Plans, Country Engagement Plans...
Prepares updates for the Command group, lead discussions, and facilitate information exchange between major subordinate commands and staff action officers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- TDY travel is required 25% or less of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- This is a drug testing designated position. In accordance with AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, the incumbent must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to the appointment and periodically thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing, planning, coordinating, integrating, and implementing Command initiatives to include Strategic Management Planning and Business Process Re-engineering; (2) Developing feedback processes and benchmarking for periodic updates of action plans in support of Command strategic goals; and (3) Evaluating on-going actions to meet the Commands goals and objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
