The Arts and Crafts Center provides a wide variety of services to the base. We host a variety of arts and craft classes for children and adults, to include our "Paint and Sip" nights. Our facility offers crafts made by local crafters like painted Alaska themed wooden bears, saws, Alaska themed items along with crocheted items, and moose shaped planters.

Duties
This position is in the Arts & Crafts Center of the 354th Force Support Squadron at Eielson AFB. The incumbent is responsible for assisting other recreation assistants in the operation and maintenance of the Arts & Crafts Center. Provide quality customer service, answer customers' questions and assists with product selection. Takes registration for skills development classes, operates register; collects, safeguards, reconciles, and deposits monies received from customers. Performs basic housekeeping duties in and around the center. Provides simple instructions to children and adult craft classes. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly and accurately in English.
Ability to safeguard and handle cash.
Must be physically able to lift and carry items up to and including 25 pounds and be able to work in a dusty environment.
Position requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, and lifting.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
