Manages/administers comprehensive, diverse recreation program and various recreational facilities that include Parks/Picnic areas, Outdoor Rental/Resale/Activities/Camping/RV parks/Liberty Program/Information Tickets and Tours (ITT), recreation /resource support and Auto Skills. Plans, promotes, and implements a variety of MWR or COMREC programs and activities while seeking various partnerships with community organizations and businesses, in support of MWR programs and base wide special events.
Duties
Performs supervisory duties which include assigning work, defining priorities, selecting and recommending employees for hire, evaluating performance, recommending pay adjustments/awards, providing or recommending training, approving/disapproving leave requests, initiating corrective actions, and recommending formal corrective/disciplinary actions as warranted.
Leads Day-to-Day operation of multiple programs to which assigned, assists with staffing, training, and scheduling.
Implements planning and promotion of Community Recreation Programs utilizing numerous MWR facilities in accordance with CNIC approved program standards.
Plans and coordinates the details of recurring and non-recurring activities, special events and joint community undertakings within the assigned program(s) to make maximum use of resources, consistent with military mission and with the principles of Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program development.
Assists in developing and maintaining a comprehensive publicity and marketing plan to include public relation duties (e.g., preparing and distributing flyers, press releases ,brochures, etc.).
Arranges for equipment, supplies and services needed to accomplish scheduled programs and makes recommendations for improvements.
Ensures programs, operations, and use of equipment are conducted within all prescribed sanitation, and health and safety regulations, standards, and guidelines.
Assists in implementing an effective written safety/risk management plan and procedures for emergency care for participants; schedules training/certification classes in First Aid/CPR training for appropriate personnel.
Conducts regular safety inspections of the facilities, and reports concerns to the immediate supervisor.
Prepares training manuals/material, operating manuals, and conducts staff meetings and training.
Schedules recreation facilities and supervises condition of facilities.
Provides clerical support, program registration, answers telephones, and maintains correspondence with other divisions or agencies; responds to public inquiries about the facility.
Assists with reservations, contracts, and access list for various fitness, sports, and recreational facilities.
Requirements
- Must pass all applicable records and background check.
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.

- May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
- A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.

One year of specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Combination of experience related to customer service and or recreation activity based functions.- Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities.- Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions and have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.- Knowledge of the goals, principles, techniques and procedures used in organizing, planning and conducting leisure time activities.- Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and the entire scope of Community Recreation activities and their suitability for individuals, groups, ages and interests.- Knowledge of the functions, procedures, and operations of recreation activities.- Must have strong customer service skills.- Ability to maintain records, compile and organize data for reports, and perform research on recreation topics for dissemination to customers.- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.- Knowledge of computers, office procedures and print production.

Education
- Knowledge gained through relevant education and training (I.E., Bachelor's or other Degree in Recreation, Marketing, Business, or other closely related fields) and/or equivalent experience in recreation related work experience. (Provide applicable degrees and Transcripts).
