You will serve as a GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SPECIALIST in the I MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE AC/S G-1 of I MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.
Duties
You will supervise the implementation and execution of I MEF FOIA/PA programs by providing guidance and direction to subordinate FOIA coordinators.
You will analyze requests for information under applicable FOIA/PA guidelines.
You will serve as the I MEF regional point of contact in resolving technical questions relating to Privacy Act issues and FOIA/PA requests.
You will screen material prior to release to ensure that documents are releasable and do not conflict with the exemptions of the FOIA/PA.
You will monitor, analyzes, and evaluates programs status and execution throughout I MEF to ensure continuity, accuracy, and completeness of actions.
You will provide input to policy and procedures governing the storage, service retrieval access, release and maintenance of record keeping systems of subordinate commands assigned to I MEF for administrative and logistical support.
You will provide training to groups, departments, and Systems of Records Managers throughout I MEF CE and MSCs.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You ware required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector participating directly in the implementation of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program with independent responsibilities for acknowledging requests and processing routine requests for records, or interpreting laws, regulations, policies, and guidance regarding access to records and information.

Education
You may substitute education for specialized experience to qualify for this position as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree,
or
three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or an LL.M, if related.
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the specialized experience requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the education requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours), may be used to combine education and experience.
