Duties
Supervises 10-15 workers through a subordinate leader.
Schedules and controls preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs.
Documents for a fleet of over 2000 pieces of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), DLA tricks, GSA vehicles and a variety of Heavy Mobile Equipment at two locations (New Cumberland/Mechanicsburg).
Analyzes work schedules to determine manpower, tooling, material requirements and methods to be used.
Indicates methods to be used, explains difficult technical requirements of tasks to be performed through verbal or written instructions, and demonstrates difficult or unusual work processes to subordinates.
Provides information and recommendations to higher level supervisors on such matters as the need to revise work schedules, ability to accomplish work assignments as scheduled, backlogs, and the number of workers and kinds of skills required.

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying. Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and that you have the required ability or potential to perform the job. Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition.
