You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION COMMODITY SUPERVISOR in the NAS Jacksonville Public Works Department of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING SYSTEMS COMMAND SE.

Duties

You will analyze existing transportation policies and regulations to recommend changes for procedural improvements. You will gather reports and other data to validate vehicles and equipment. You will assign work to junior employees based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, or capabilities. You will coordinate with the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southeast (NAVFAC SE ) to ensure adequate support in the maintenance and repair of assigned vehicles.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Coordinate with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) or a comparable Department of Defense (DOD) transportation department to ensure adequate support in the maintenance and repair of assigned vehicles.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Demonstrates basic knowledge of Base Support Vehicles and Equipment (BSVE) Transportation maintenance and operation; 2) Manages Fleet fuel card program, vehicles assignment, utilization, preventative maintenance, and procurement; 3) Tracks work orders and coordinates repairs with service contractor; 4) Processes inventory objective (IO), short-term rental request and GSA accident and mileage reports; 5) Demonstrates knowledge, experience and training in computer software programs (excel, word, email) and with Maximo data program; 6) Navigates Maximo program in preparing trip tickets, opening and closing work orders and tracking maintenance and operation cost.
