Southern District of Texas - Corpus Christi The selectee of this position serves as an Investigative Analyst. You will be responsible for collecting and analyzing a variety of intelligence data and processing, tracking, and inputting warrants into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.

Duties

As a Investigative Analyst at the GS-1805-7 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Gathering, researching, and analyzing various types of data from federal, state, local, and public agencies. Providing administrative support and assistance to USMS Criminal Investigators in accomplishing activities for their assigned warrant cases. Maintaining prisoner files and records. Maintaining and recording actions on criminal cases, as well as initiating documentation. Reviewing cases for consistency and compliance with established civil process regulations and procedures to ensure orders of the court are followed. Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-1805-07 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: 1. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 level which includes 1) Selecting, compiling, analyzing, and summarizing information in a clear and logical manner; 2) Applying problem solving skills to resolve complex situational issues; 3) Establishing and maintaining relationships with external organization members; and 4) Utilizing a variety of databases to obtain, monitor, and update information related to legal documents. OR 2. Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Intelligence Studies, Public Administration, etc. OR 3. Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above. Superior Academic Achievement is based on: Class Standing - Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; OR Grade-Point Average (G.P.A.) - Applicants must have a grade-point average of either (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.; OR Honor Society Membership - Applicants may be considered eligible based on membership in one of the approved national scholastic honor societies listed by the Association of College Honor Societies (https://www.achsnatl.org/). 4. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. AND Possession of the following competencies: Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions. Interpersonal Skills: Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others; develops and maintains effective relationships with others; may include effectively dealing with individuals who are difficult, hostile, or distressed; relates well to people from varied backgrounds and different situations; is sensitive to cultural diversity, race, gender, disabilities, and other individual differences. Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work. Note: Subject matter experts will evaluate the first five pages of work experience in your resume based on these competencies.
