This vacancy is for an Employee Assistance Program Specialist position in the, Health Services Branch,located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.
Duties
Performs program management/operations functions in support of the Employee Assistance Program.
Provides professional counseling services to individuals relative to the Employee Assistance Program.
Conducts assessments of workforce needs and develops, conducts, and provides prevention education and training.
Provides EAP guidance to workforce, and supervisors.

Minimum Education Requirement:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. Please provide transcripts.
or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
AND
Specialized Experience For the GS-12, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Providing professional counseling services relative to EAP; Conducting interviews with employees seeking assistance; Performing diagnostic evaluations to assess problems; Interpreting psychological tests, and assessments to design treatment plans; Referring employees to our service providers (when required); and performing program evaluations to ensure EAP compliance and program effectiveness to provide recommendations.
