You will serve as a Production Controller in the Public Works Division of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Southeast located in Belle Chasse, LA. Duties

You will analyze, plan, and carry out complete production control tasks independently and resolve production and material conflicts or shortages which arise with minimal guidance. You will coordinates most of the timing and integrated production efforts of the many shops and departments responsible for work on various segments of maintenance and repair jobs. You will track and monitor the status and completion of work through computerized management and maintenance system (Maximo). You will collect and monitor information from a variety of sources and compile data to evaluate goals, detect errors, determine status of work, and evaluate trends to achieve best utilization of resources. You will perform cost accounting and work order tracking for both in-house and contract execution. You will monitor all job order numbers and project packages to ensure they are correct and funded properly. You will serve as a Point of Contact for Public Works clients, Public Works staff, managers, supervisors, buyers, contract specialists, construction specialists, and outside vendors. You will observe production operations, monitor applicable reports, determine if production is proceeding according to schedule, analyze causes for delay, take corrective action, and make adjustments to production schedules as necessary.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You may be required to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when necessary.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.

Qualifications

Outside applicants claiming VEOA, VRA, Military Spouse under EO 13473, Disability, and Interchange Eligibles (i.e., those without current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service) must meet specialized experience requirements equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Planning and scheduling the production cycle for construction, repair, and renovation projects performed by in house workforce and contractor personnel; 2) Analyzing production operations to determine if schedules are being followed, if they can be improved, the causes of production delays and problem resolution; 3) Using business application systems in a production control environment for data entry and queries; 4) Adapting to changes in program requirements, understanding processes that govern production, and working under pressure of those short fused requirements. Applicants who are current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service employees must meet specialized experience requirements equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Planning and scheduling the production cycle for construction, repair, and renovation projects performed by in house workforce and contractor personnel; 2) Analyzing production operations to determine if schedules are being followed, if they can be improved, the causes of production delays and problem resolution; 3) Using business application systems in a production control environment for data entry and queries; 4) Adapting to changes in program requirements, understanding processes that govern production, and working under pressure of those short fused requirements.
